Selfie Apps

Editing selfies can be a real pain! Switching between apps to get the desired result can end up taking much longer than anticipated. Well, my two favorite apps have FINALLY been translated to English and they are too cool not to try for yourself!

MeituPic and BeautyPlus. They’re similar in filters, but each has their own special features! I took my selfie to a super kawaii level, but they have the BEST skin smoothing effects! It’s amazing. You can also make acne disappear, eyes and teeth whiter, or make your face slimmer!

One other app that can be really beneficial in selfie editing is Perfect365. When downloading this, be sure to have some time because you’re sure to get carried away with this app! Change your hair and makeup completely, make your smile bigger, and even CONTOUR YOUR NOSE. This app is a lot of fun, especially when comparing the before and after so check it out!

Sprinkles & Splatter: Nail Art at Home

If you’re a fan of nail art and follow countless nail accounts on Instagram, you’ve seen the crazy cool nail polishes from various Etsy shops. Nail sprinkles are one of the latest nail trends and the quickest way to get a chic manicure in minutes! Its equivalent to nail confetti in a bottle, coming in all shapes, colors, and sizes.

I follow MrsLochness on Instagram and one of her posts featured this nail polish! I’ve been searching for a sprinkley nail polish that’s available anywhere besides Etsy, and when I noticed the bottle said Hard Candy, I knew I could find it at Walmart.

This nail polish, “Black Tie Optional,” is the absolute perfect finishing touch to any basic manicure and it’s totally on trend with its black and white color palette. What’s even better is that it’s a matte confetti so it has a unique paint splatter effect! It’s also not super base heavy like most glitter polishes, so it goes on thin and dries almost instantly. Try it on pastels for the best contrast and watch your mani transform!

“Reboot” your Wardrobe

We all have old or bland items in our wardrobes that could use a little something more. Well, after I found these boots while on vacation in Key West for only $10, I knew I could easily personalize and update them! I made a quick trip to Joann Fabrics and headed toward the trim aisle. I then found 2 different fringe trims and black studs that I was instantly drawn to. After coupons the trims came to about $3! I used a combo of fabric glue and super glue I already had and attached the fringe and studs. I liked the boots before, but after I “rebooted” them, I LOVED them! So next time you clean out your closet, consider personalizing some “oldies but goodies” before tossing them, you’d be surprised what inspiration can come from the craft store!

Beauty Tip: Let’s Get Catty

As a part of my everyday routine, the cat eye can take months to master. I’ve been wearing my eye makeup like this for about 5 years now, and there are some secret tips to achieving the perfect wing. First, gather your materials:

 1. Eyelash curler

2. Liquid eyeliner (I use Maybelline’s Line Stiletto)

3. Gel Eyeliner (I use Maybelline’s Eyestudio)

4. Eyeliner pencil

5. Mascara

First, curl your lashes (so you avoid smudging the eyeliner in the future). Then, draw a quick line over your lashline with a regular pencil eyeliner. Smudge it with a sponge. This will help the liquid liner stick to your lid. Next, using the liquid liner, draw your bottom wing tip. Now, starting from your inner eye, create the top of your eyeliner and connect it to the bottom wing tip you just drew. You should have a space of skin still showing between the two. Continue by filling in the space and perfecting the shape of “swoosh” you desire. Let that dry. Finish the perfect cat eye by going over it with gel liner. I just started doing this recently and found that my eyeliner appeared less faded, more black, and lasted MUCH longer. Simply dip the brush into the gel pot and gently trace the liquid liner. And finally, top your lashes off with mascara and you’re good to go!
